Manifesto

Art needs equality! More than half of all artists are women, so they must be equally visible with their work and represented in cultural discourse. Read our demands in the manifesto:

• Recognition and re-evaluation of the achievements of women artists from all eras
• At least 50% solo exhibitions by women artists in the contemporary sector 
• Gender-equitable acquisition and collection policies
• Support for research projects and scholarly publications on women artists of all eras
• Increase of the proportion of women artists in permanent collections — in the contemporary sector to 50%
• Residency programs and re-entry grants for women artists with caregiving duties
• Scholarships and art awards for women artists in later career stages
• Overcoming patriarchal structures and gender bias
• Recognition of women’s working realities
• Critical examination of collection histories from feminist and intersectional perspective
